British Sea Power - ‘Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow’ (Demo)
From the forthcoming BSP EP5 ‘Over Your Cities…’ is possibly the most promising demo from the series so far. Although it clearly needs some studio tidying up and a sprinkling of the fairy dust that all full British Sea Power releases have this has the groups core magic imprinted.
That said, this track also seems to mark the moment where Valhalla Dancehall is left behind. As each BSP album has had a distinct feel it’s been easy to see the demos from the first three EPs in this series as a continuation of what the band achieved on VD. ‘Over Your Cities…’ feels new.
Definitely worth a listen, especially if you’ve missed out on their 2012 releases so far.
